Saw a show last night on That nut Craig Titus and his nut girlfriend Kelly Ryan. Seems they got high and brutally murdered(old story) some young girl. Most have probably heard the bulk of the story. This show went over the whole thing and into his and her background. You wanna talk about a couple of disfunctional people WOW were they screwed up. She got the deal of the century only six years! he actually got a decent deal too 21-50. Which means he may see the light of day some time again. Not bad for beating, electrocuting with a stun gun, injecting numerous drugs to make look like an overdose, strangling, and ultimately stuffing the girl in a trunk and burning the body beyond recognition, fleeing, then hiring a hitman in jail to kill off witnesses, he musta knew the judge or somethin

I meant to post something about this the other day on another thread but I will post it separately. The other day after finishing my entire workout in the
power rack ( consisting of snatches, OH squats. high pulls, push presses, cleans etc), as a finisher I went and did a few sets of one arm DB snatches with
90lbs. I think I just did two sets of 10. The Puerto Rican soldier who was doing slow one arm rows with the 90lbers asked me " What do those work?" I
was hot sweaty and ready to go hoem and eat so I just shrugged and said " Everything" and walked away. This attitude ( his, not mine) is indicative
of how the bodypart mentality has permeated the idea of "working out". Apparently in his mind you do an exercise to develop a certain body part.
Ah...life is so much easier when you do your own thing! haha

I went to a wrestling show last night, and I emphasize the word "show." I haven't been to a wrestling card in nearly twenty years and, boy, was
it an eye-opener. It lasted four hours, and between the music, videos, interviews, and pyrotechnics, there actually were a few matches. The videos that
accompany each wrestler to the ring actually lasted more than some of the matches. A typical match would go something like this: Video on large-screen
jumbotron, loud head-banging music, wrestler makes his way to the ring. He jumps into the ring, does some shucking and jiving, grabs the microphone from the
ring announcer and gives a nice, gibberish laden diatribe. His opponent is announced next with the same details. The actual match lasts about 5-7 minutes,
then the pinfall. Then the wrestlers leave the ring individually, each accompanied with the same music/video that the entered the arena with. While I realize
that 'rasslin was always entertainment, at least...

Is it just me, or does it seem as if there is entirely too much emphasis placed on the death of Michael Jackson? Two straight days where the NY local news
stations showed nothing but his death. As if nothing else happened. Yes, he was a popular entertainer- even I never cared for his music. But let's be
brutally honest--he was also a pedophile, child molester, prescription drug abuser, among a host of other problems that contributed to him deteriorating into
what can best be described as some sort of side-show freak. What I find sad is the relative lack of coverage afforded Ed McMahon's passing. Maybe he
wasn't a big "superstar," but, from all accounts he was down-to-earth, approachable, and friendly. He also fought for our country--in two wars!
As a Marine fighter pilot he flew over forty combat missions in WWII, and Korea. He might be remembered as a "second banana," but I'll take one
Ed McMahon over 1,000 Michael Jacksons anyday.

I just read in one of the papers today that Jose Canseco will fight Danny Bonaduce ( from the Partridge family) in a boxing match tonight. Unbelievable. This
Canseco's second fight, he was knocked out in the first round last summer by former NFLer Vai Sikahema. I guess Canseco will do anything to make a buck
now. Hopefully, it won't be televised. What would be even greater is if he would just disappear and be relegated to his rightful place--obscurity. Two
washed up druggies fighting each other to make a buck. It's too bad they both can't lose.

I saw the movie "Burn After Reading" just the other day. I haven't laughed so hard in years!!!

Three of the main characters are employees of a "chrome and mirrors" type gym, "Hardbodies", and as John Malkovich's character puts it,
they "represent a league of morons" and "the idiotsy of today".

I think what makes it so funny is these characters are a pretty accurate representation of the average personal trainer/counter person who works for one of
these national big chain gyms, Bally's, Gold's, 24, etc.

See it when you get a chance, you'll laugh you ass off.!!!

work out for bulk, Kim says, I like lean muscles." Mario Lopez--MTV's Americas Best Dance Crew--"I like to mix it up because I don't want to

Well I finally did it. I seriously strained/pulled a tendon in my hand doing two finger deadlifts. I don't do them as a regular part of my workout but my
friend Josh and I were talking about Goerner's two finger and one handed deadlifts and it got me to wondering how much I could do. Well I did 225 with my
index and middle finger then, in the heat of the moment , I tried my middle and ring finger. I felt a "POP" in the ring finger tendon so I quit. I
finished my workout with my push presses and rows but had to use straps on the rows. Luckily I had physical therapy today and my therapist looked at it and
said in his opinion it wasn't torn...yet. Thank goodness I have some Endocets. You'd think a 40 year old man would know better!

A New Trend??

I have noticed something recently at the gym. After observing several trainees, I noticed that they are doing partial reps. Not the partials as advocated by
Brooks Kubik in Dinosaur Training, but more like what was done ( and popularized ) by Ferrigno in the movie Pumping Iron. Just today there were two guys
training the bench press. They were actually using adjacent benches, and one was basically bouncing the bar off his chest mayber 6"-8" for about 12
reps. The second guy was lowering the bar maybe about half-way and then locking it out. The first guy did all his movements the same way-curls, pushdowns,
etc.. Not one complete movement, and, not coincidentally, not one impressive muscle on his body. It seems that there are more and more people doing this. Is
this a trend or maybe something that is just happening at the gym where I train?

It seems that the new American gladiators are coming back to television the week of May 12. I didn't see any of the episodes that aired over the Winter,
but I heard that the "new" gladiators are very similar to the gladiators from the early 90s--huge, hulking, (mostly) juiced-up behemoths going up
against small, thin, wiry types. And, returning as host, is the Huckster himself. That fact alone is enough to declare the show a total disgrace. There will
also be a reality show featuring Hogan coming soon ( a new one, not the old one where his wife dumped him.) It seems the networks can't get enough of the
Huckster. Why is there such a large number of people willing to idolize this guy? Why won't some network exec or broadcaster or interviewer have a pair
and confront this fraud, and ask him some tough questions about his own use?
