C'mon, Jgriff, he lied before but now he's telling the truth. Really. Trust him. Actually, he's smart enough to know that if he confesses and
apologizes, while still being ambiguous and fuzzy about what he actually took, people will forgive him. And, more importantly, he won't be subpoenaed to
testify under oath. He may not be able to perform under pressure, but he can sure save his own hide. He's good at looking out for himself. He saw what
Bonds and Clemens are going through and figured it's best if he just admit it and let the chips fall where they may. So he's a liar and a phony-
that's nothing new to A-Roid. Boy, I'm sure the Sox are glad they didn't actually trade for him five years ago.

I'm gonna puke if I have to listen to one more person say how honest he is. He did drugs, totally lied about it for years, now is minimalizing it only after
he got caught, cheated on his wife for years. He's a complete bum!!!!!! After all the B.S. we are supposed to believe that he only did drugs for three
years? You nailed it,he weighed both options denial/partial confession and saw what happened to Roger,Bonds as opposed to Giambi,Canseco, and went that route.
The only thing that bothers me is some of the records. Hank Aaron is the home run king. PERIOD! no asterisk,no nothin!! baseball is a fraud if they don't
come out and restore that record!!

Correct-A-Mundo. He's just sorry he was found out. The apologies and repentance are just so much BS. And, yes, I agree that Hank Aaron is the all-time HR
champ. These other chumps are nothing but unworthy contenders. I would love to see baseball institute some sort of way of differentiating the legit records
from the cheaters. Roger Maris went through a living hell and suffered the humiliation of an asterisk for his legitimate effort. Bonds, clemens, A-Roid, et.
al. should be treated like the cheaters they are.

That's true, but it's also true that people tend to believe that these jokers are clean and that the sport has "cleaned up," but we know that
testing is a joke-that there are ways around the test. And no matter how many scandals come out of baseball, come opening day, people will be lining up to go
to the game ( in a brand new stadium heavily financed by taxpayers while the ballclub recieves huge tax breaks from the city, while ordinary citizens are being
asked to not only foot the bill, but to make sacrifices to help the city weather its current financial crisis.) I'm sorry, I'm not bitter but I find
the whole thing sad.

happen.

If it does happen, then maybe we should get credit for it,lol, afterall members of this forum have been making the case for it since bonds was closing in on
the record. What's funny is I remembers ten years ago when the whole McGuire thing came about, and I remember telling people that he was ( and is)
illegitimate because he was using the crap, and nobody wanted to hear about it. The whole thing that him and sosa were "saving baseball" was nothing
but a bunch of crap, and how many players were using back then? How many have used the crap in the years since? And this all happened on Selig's watch. He
sat on his ass for years and did nothing ( while making $18M per year-nice work if you can get it) while the cheaters and liars were destroying the very sport
that has passed itself off as America's pasttime. He, along with the rest of the phonies/cheats/druggies/liars are all an absolute disgrace.

I'm guessing that he is putting out feelers by saying this publically. If it gets a positive response from baseball insiders and fans he MAY do it.
I've already heard a few people say he can't/shouldn't so it probably wont happen.

The press conference is today. The NY media will make it a circus ( as usual.) This current Yankee team has the potential to rival the '77-'78 teams in
terms of controversy. Now if they could only win like those teams.

thats where i got my college quote from. Don't even bother watchin it. the only thing he is absolutely sure of is that he didn't do any drugs before or
after 2000-2003. Don't know what kind, where he got em,if they worked, why he did it,who gave em to him, total blank, except the day he started and the day he
ended use. Are you buyin it?????

Oh yeah -LOL. Let's see--he was young and stupid when he started to take the crap. But if you are to believe that, he waited until he was in his
mid-twenties to get young and stupid. He's not sure what he had injected into his body. And what a press conference---No follow-up questions allowed, the
conference only lasted 30 minutes, and that phony teary-eyed act at the end- what a performance.

He's gonna get a pass on this tho. He'll eat some crap on the road, but he aint gonna get the full beat down from the press and people that others get.
I can tell already. Don't exactly know why some get a pass while others get crushed, but A-Rod is gonna get a pass, watch!!!

He's got to hope that he hits a helluva of a lot of homers and keeps it going, then the NY fans will quickly forget and even forgive. And if he can lead
the team to a championship, a very BIG if, then all will be forgotten. It will be interesting to see what happens the first time he goes up to Boston. The way
I see it, even if he gets a ton of verbal abuse, he will have gotten off easy.

I can honestly say- and I think I speak for many people- that I am absolutely sick of reading and hearing about A-roid and his hip. He had one procedure done,
now we can read about his recovery and rehab for the next two months. Then he will have surgery after the season, at which point we get to hear about it all
over again. Can't there be any other stories to put on the back page of the papers?

well he'll soon be dating some celebrity and then everyone can hear about that everyday. I heard that he has something similiar to what Mike Lowell had
last year. If so this could be a lost year for A-fraud

I don't see why he can't have the major surgery now, come back after the all-star break, then he will have plenty of time to prepare to choke come
playoff time.
Jgriff- Why couldn't the sox have traded for him when they had the chance? Look at what you've been missing. |

too funny Jim. But don't worry we had mental Manny to deal with all these years. A different kind of idiot, but an idiot nonetheless. It doesn't seem to
make sense how the Yankee's are handling this but you gotta figure they know more than us. Alotta pressure to win this year for them huh?

With all they spent during the off-season, not to mention a brand new stadium ( for which they received a VERY generous deal from NYC at taxpayers'
expense) plus the usual "nothing less than a world championship will be accpetable" attitude there IS a lot of pressure. And to tell you the truth,
with their pitching staff, if they DON'T win this year then something is really screwed up. I'm also thinking that with the new stadium, there is just
as much pressure to put people in the seats, and I guess they will draw more people if A-Roid misses only one month of the regular season than several months.
Still, they could have let him go a year ago with his free agency bs, and they would have had a LOT less headaches to deal with. I tell ya, here in NY the
papers are about the same two things every damn day--the front page is Bernie Madoff and the back page is A-Roid. Every single day, each newspaper, without
fail. Kind of makes you want to stop reading the papers.
