My thoughts on what helps him do this, plus live a happy, energetic life is that he absolutely believes in what he does, and maybe some heavy duty nutritional supplementation. Though I'm not a big supplementer, he said that that was a big part of what helped him do such stunts as 1,000 pullups.
Do you think the average Joe, if he firmly believed in what he was doing, was relentlessly positive, and ate excellent, could build up to this or is Jack's approach something truly inimitable? As I'm now in my forties, the thought of toughing it out for several months to break through to a place where I would just about guarantee (I know there are NO guarantees in this life) myself several more productive decades appeals to me. I much prefer shorter infrequent workouts, but wonder if you guys think if anybody had the determination, they could follow his Spartan example. (Don't you wish he wrote a book about his hardcore training and how he progressed to where he is today? If there is one, let me know.)
