Well I finally did it. I seriously strained/pulled a tendon in my hand doing two finger deadlifts. I don't do them as a regular part of my workout but my
friend Josh and I were talking about Goerner's two finger and one handed deadlifts and it got me to wondering how much I could do. Well I did 225 with my
index and middle finger then, in the heat of the moment , I tried my middle and ring finger. I felt a "POP" in the ring finger tendon so I quit. I
finished my workout with my push presses and rows but had to use straps on the rows. Luckily I had physical therapy today and my therapist looked at it and
said in his opinion it wasn't torn...yet. Thank goodness I have some Endocets. You'd think a 40 year old man would know better!

Don't sweat it just 'cause you're 40. You're still just a big kid and got a boo boo while playing with your toys. It's just your toys are
bigger and heavier than they used to be. LOL. The important thing is you were getting out of your comfort zone and stretching your limits. Give it some time
and recuperate and you will be back at it before you know it.

Keith my hand has actually gotten much better. I have about 85% use of it now. Way better than Tuesday. I still haul out my toys to train the guys on...tires,
sandbags, farmers walk bars, sledgehammer etc. I think I am gonna be able to try and throw today too. I believe it is due to using castor oil on the hand. That
stuff works.

Castor Oil? Hey, as long as your hand is improving, that's all that matters. And don't let that incident deter you from trying new things. Good Luck
with it.

A little anecdote. I smashed my finger between plates and it turned black. I used Castor oil on it and the next day i had neither pain nor a bruised
fingernail. Do a search for Castor oil packs on Google and read. If you want download " The Oil That Heals". No one and I mean NO ONE is more
skeptical than me but the stuff works.
On Friday I threw with the boys and I set a PR with a throw of 71 feet with the light hammer. Nothing to write home about but an improvement. However, this tendon is gonna take a long time to get back to normal

I never knew that about Castor Oil. I've read about for work ( commercial production of castor oil produces a protein toxin that can be used to develop
ricin, a deadly biological agent used by terrorists.) I also remember seeing castor oil used a lot in the old Little Rascals movies.

Oh no harm John. It is true though. The Castor plant is poisonous all over and ricin is what is distilled from the pods. Highly toxic and untraceable. The
Soviets used ricin sometimes in assassinations. Castor Oil however is not toxic. However, in the Middle Ages it was known as Palma Christi or "the Palm of
Christ" for its seemingly miraculous healing properties.
Jim I laughed when I read you mentioning the Little Rascals. That was my first exposure to castor oil too. Is is a GREAT purgative for the bowels when taken orally. My grandmother believed in fasting and cleansing the system twice a year and Castor oil was used for that. Personally, I think olive oil tastes worse but to each his own. |

Yeah, the only time I have heard of using Castor Oil is to clean out the bowels when you are backed up. Had a friend who's mom made them take a weekly dose
when they were young. Later, when we got older the same friend spent some time in the service in Europe. Brought back a book he purchased on poisons that told
how to make ricing from Castor Beans. Big bold warning to only do this outside as even a small amount of the fumes were deadly. Wasn't the guy that was
assassinated in England killed with Ricin? You know what though, if you promoted Ricin as a training supplement people would probably line up to buy it. Once.

They probably would. If you guraranteed that it would build big biceps and pecs without the hard work. The only problem would be marketing it---how can you
market a product that can only be used once? You can't sell it in a large container, so the supplement manufacturers wouldn't be able to make a lot of
money from it.

The sport certainly would get " a lot smarter." And creatine does sell ( or at least it used to.)
