I just received a package from Bob Adams. great stuff in great condition. I know we posted stuff on the old site about him and his mags but its worth another
mention. If anyone is lookin for old (real) weight lifting mags vintagemusclemags are the place to go. He has a huge selection.

I'll second that motion, Jgriff. I've ordered from Bob in the past and have always been extremely pleased. By the way, what did you order? The last
items I ordered were old Strength and Healths from the 60s. Timeless stuff, and I never get tired of looking through them.

I got a whole collection of Hardgainers (early original issues included). H.I.T Newsletters-Hardtraining Newsletters and some old Steel Tips. In other
words, all you would ever need to know about weight training!

Truer words were never spoken. When I first joined the former Iron Island Gym, Dr. Ken was kind enough to give me a bunch of old Steel Tips. I still have them
in a binder and still look to them for honest, useful, no bs information. I feel kind of bad for people who are first starting to train today because there is
no Steel Tip, or H.I.T. Newsletter, or Hardgainer from which to learn. The only printed word is contained in the Muscle Comics.

Some of the H.I.T newsletters have small pictures of Dr. Ken training people at Iron Island. Its hard to figure if things are worse. As far as "in your
hands" publications there has never been a worse time for weight training. But people have a ton of good information at their finger tips with the
internet. Its just a matter of seperating the garbage from the "gold". Not easy if you don't know what to look for tho I guess.

I don't read the "muscle Mags" but sure do miss The old Iron Man, Steel Tip, Hit Digest, Hard Training, Hard Gainer, and High Performance
Training News Letter. I prefer the honest reporting of those publications. Putting them out was hard work for the Editors. Nothing to pick from that is close
today.

I like it a lot. I ordered a second copy from Amazon.com. I'm learning a bunch of History that I had no idea about.

Bob is great to deal with, I lucked out recently when he ran a special, and got 100 S&H mags for $100.00, shipped. (1930's and 1940's only).
On the Roach book, I see some on ebay (soft cover) for 49.95. (I myself will most likely get the hard cover). Dave |
