Sixty-Five years ago the greatest amphibious assault- carried out by the greatest generation- happened on the shores of France, beginning the liberation of
Europe, and preserving freedom that we enjoy to this day. Just thinking about what they had to go through, from the preparation to the hell on earth that
awaited them as they came ashore still boggles my mind. The brutality that they endured only solidifies their reputation as the greatest generation. It's
nice to see that they are getting recognition, albeit a bit late. Today, even though many of these heroic men have passed away, hopefully we will always
remember the sacrifices that they and their fallen comrades made so that we may live free.
