I'm new here so bear with me. Was on another forum but not much happening there and one guy who just slated anything and any one for the fun (I pressume).
I've been doing trap bar dead lifts in my once a week full body HIT routine with free weight and compound moves, one set done to failure with a pause and then one more rep and a fail. I like them and find squatting difficult mainly due to awkwardness trying to get my left hand far enough back with out hurting my shoulder (old M.A. injury).
Am I missing a trick by not squatting (i used to love them year back)?
Should I try front squat or over head squat or just cut right back to squatting with an empty/light bar until I feel comfortable with my position and movement and see how it goes?
If I can get back to it (which I'd like if possible) and bearing in mind a do a once a week routine, am I likely to still get progression doing squats one week and deadlifts the next? Doing both to failure in one work out would, I think, be over cooking it and the later exercise would obviously suffer.
Appreciate any advice
